MQM agrees to restoration of old commissionerate system under LG system

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has agreed to restore old commissionerate system under local government system, a private TV channel reported Sunday. According to the channel, a meeting was held between Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) and MQM at chief minister house to review the restoration of commissionerate system.
Talking to the channel, MQM leader, Syed Sardar Ahmed said that PPP and MQM has decided to restore the old commissionerate system under local government system, and provincial law minister and secretary law would draft a law in this regard. He further said that a summary would be sent to the federal government after getting approval from the chief minister of Sindh.
Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Shah, provincial ministers Ayaz Soomro and Syed Murad Ali Shah represented the PPP while Dr Farooq Sattar and Syed Sardar Ahmed represented the MQM, the channel added.
