A meeting of the core group of PPP was held in the Presidency on Monday night under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Those who attended the meeting included Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Rehman Malik, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Syed Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, Ms Fauzia Wahab, Ms Rukhsana Bangash, Ms Fauzia Habib and Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar. Briefing journalists, the Spokesperson to the President said the meeting discussed the current political situation in the country. Issues relating to the start of the third Parliamentary year also came under discussion.
