LAHORE: Pakistan Railway will earn Rs1.15 billion per year by its 'business train' and international standard facilities will be provided to the passengers.

Four Brothers International Private Limited has invested 225.786 million to bring substantive changes to value-addition in passenger services. Food and catering service to the passengers in the lounge and in business train will be provided by Four Brothers Pvt Limited.

This was stated by Saeed Akhtar, General Manager Operation PR while talking to media on the eve of inauguration of Business Train Lounge at Lahore Railway Station, here on Saturday, which will be operated between Lahore and Karachi.

He further said the international standard facilities were being introduced in the Business Train to attract business community because business community is not using trains. Such more trains would be started in Sialkot, Faisalabad he added. In response to question, he said that business trains will be consisted of nine Business class Air -conditioned Coaches with a journey time 18.00 hours.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq MNA said that government was not serious for the betterment of Pakistan Railway as no positive action was taken up till now for the rehabilitation of the organisation. He further said that recommendation forward by Public Account Committee to the ministries of railway as well as to the finance was not acted upon.

It may be mentioned here that first time in Pakistan Railway private sector will responsible for passenger facilitation of Business Trains including booking of Parcel and Luggage at originating and destination stations.

LCCI president Irfan Qasier and a large number of businessman were present on the occasion.
