Application for directions to ISI to hold inquiry of cases against Raymond

LAHORE: An application was moved on Saturday in the Lahore High Court seeking directions to Inter Services Intelligence to hold the inquiry of cases against double murder accused Raymond Davis.

The application was filed by petitioner-counsel Rana ILamuddin Ghazi, seeking directions to submit the record of the Raymond Davis before the court.

Ghazi submitted in his present application that the accused was spending his days of detention as a guest because his 'residence' in Kot Lakhpat Jail consist of two barracks and 18 rooms and equipped with facilities of mobile phone, TV, etc.

He submitted that the Jail was much far from the city and this distance could help the accused in fleeing from the jail.

The Petitioner alleged that America wanted his early release fearing that he would reveal secrets about their missions in Pakistan and drone attacks.

He said after his arrest, all drone attacks were stopped as if he was providing assistance in this regard to the US forces.

Ghazi expressed apprehensions that America could launch an operation for release of Davis as there were several instances when America took such action against sovereignty of different countries.

He alleged that documents recovered from Davis had proved that he was a mastermind of terrorists himself.

The petitioner pleaded the court that it was necessary to hand over the accused to the ISI so that no one could kidnap or harm him in any way ,and that the ISI would handle the matter properly.
