TORONTO: Canada's main stock index opened higher on Tuesday, boosted by gains among energy stocks as oil prices picked up and as miners rode a wave of buying interest in copper and other materials.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up14.67 points, or 0.1 percent, to 14,966.55 shortly after the open.
