ROTTERDAM: Soymeal prices on the European meals and feeds market continued to ease on Thursday in thin trade due to the absence of a direction from Chicago markets because of Thanksgiving Day holiday, market sources said.
"It was a very quiet day with buyers holding back waiting to see if markets drop even further following Wednesday's sharply lower CBOT soymeal futures close on worries over the global economy and the euro debt zone," one broker said.
South American soymeal was offered between $2 and $6 a tonne down from Wednesday, following last night's CBOT soymeal futures close. Bids were scarce and no trades were reported.
Most other products were quoted flat to a little lower following the trend in soymeal and lower rapeseed futures. Buyers showed little interest and no business was seen.
