Hamza Ali Abbasi faces backlash again

Highly vocal and opinionated Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi recently went on a rant over item numbers being a part of Pakistani movies and PEMRA not doing anything about it.

The movie actor posted a paragraph long status criticizing the existence of ‘Item Numbers’ in a movie, Hamza felt heartbroken to see PEMRA not taking any action on these vulgar features. According to the actor’s opinion these kinds of songs are clearly objectifying women in general, moreover degrading to the female society.

Soon after the status was uploaded Abbasi faced quite some backlash as the actor himself starred in a movie ‘Jawani Phir Nai Ani’ that had an ‘Item Number’ as a part of the film but the actor quickly updated the status clearing the air saying he apologized for being a part of the song and even boycotted the movie’s promotions for the same reason.

Hamza shared his views on the topic after Sadaf Kanwal’s item song for the movie ‘Na Maloom Afrad 2’ was recently released.
