HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares slipped 0.98 percent on Tuesday morning as traders fretted over the eurozone debt crisis and the failure of US lawmakers to reach a deal to slash the nation's huge deficit.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell 178.31 points to 18,047.54 on turnover of HK$30.14 billion (US$3.87 billion).
