ISLAMABAD: The two-day International Productivity Congress (IPC-2011) on Friday concluded with a commitment by National Productivity Organization (NPO) and Asian Productivity Organization (APO) officials to carry mission of productivity enhancement at various economic areas.
Speakers at the congress, which started here on Thursday, emphasized the important role of NPO in Pakistani economy via series of capacity development programmes through mobilizing international expertise, giving Pakistan's industry an opportunity to learn new approaches of efficiency.
The guests on second day session included Director IBA, Karachi, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, Chief Technical Advisor TRTA-II (UNIDO), Councilor & Consultant Bilal Qutb and Vice Chairman, House of Habib (HoH), Sohail Ahmed.
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industries, Ms. Shaista Sohail said that currently we are going through a time of uncertainty and low confidence it is the task of government to use every tool at its disposal to build confidence and strengthen the economy against global threats.
On this occasion WCPS awards were given to Saqib Moin-ud-Din, Dr. Fakir Muhammad, Nauman Wazir and Khawaja Mohammad Yousuf on their valuable contribution to industrial productivity enhancement projects.
Ryuichiro Yamazaki Secretary General (APO) Japan and John Heap President WCPS reiterated on congratulating NPO for organizing unique event by NPO under that guidance of CEO-NPO Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf.
CEO-NPO Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf at his closing remarks said that the NPO was moving in the right direction.
