HAMBURG: South Korea's largest feed-maker Nonghyup Feed (NOFI) purchased 55,000 tonnes of feed wheat in a tender on Friday and 125,000 tonnes of corn, including 70,000 tonnes of corn from the US, European traders said.
The feed wheat was bought at $254.50 a tonne c&f. Seller was Cargill. The wheat was for arrival by Feb. 15, 2012.
NOFI rejected offers for 55,000 tonnes of wheat also sought for Mar. 15, 2012 delivery in the tender.
Some 70,000 tonnes of US corn was purchased from trading house Mitsui at about $315 a tonne c&f for arrival by Mar. 15, 2012. A further 55,000 tonnes of optional-origin corn was bought from another trading house at $295 a tonne c&f for Mar. 31, 2012, delivery.
Bids were rejected and no purchase made for up to 55,000 tonnes of corn for Feb.28, 2012, arrival, traders said.
