Libya aims for 1.25mn bpd oil output before year-end

ALGIERS: Libya's current oil production is about 835,000 barrels per day with a target output of 1.25 million bpd before the end of the year, the head of the state energy company National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Wednesday.

Power shortages and pipeline leaks have caused production constraints though the NOC has purchased mobile power units to help ease generation outages, NOC chief Mustafa Sanalla said in response to emailed questions during a visit to Algiers.

He said foreign oil companies were responding positively to interim arrangements to allow them to keep working in the country as the security situation improved and allowed the new government to work.
