HOUSTON: Royal Dutch Shell Plc's Convent, Louisiana, refinery was preparing on Wednesday morning to restart a furnace on the diesel hydrotreater at the 235,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery, said sources familiar with plant operations.
Shell spokesman Ray Fisher said on Wednesday that maintenance was underway at the Convent refinery, but did not identify the units involved in the work.
One of the two furnaces on the 36,000 bpd hydrotreater was shut by a malfunction on Tuesday night, the sources said.
