KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Public Health Engineering, Mohammad Adil Siddiqui, has directed the district central administration to expedite ongoing construction work of zoo in North Karachi and New Karachi.
This is prerequisite to provide quality recreation to the area people in general and children in particular, he told the officials Tuesday during his visit to the zoo sites at Nasir Hussain Shaheed Park in New Karachi, sector 11-G and Arif Hussain Shaheed Park in North Karachi, sector 11-B.
The Minister said the parks, on which zoos were being built, must also not lose their charm for the children and electronic swings be inserted and fish aquarium besides play-land must also be developed there.
He said recreational facilities being raised by the government must be such that they may cater to the needs of cross sections of the society.
Concerned officials briefed the Minister that 30 percent work has been completed at the two sites and extra efforts were being made for their early completion.
