19 teams are being called to show their mettle in National Football Challenge Cup (NFCC) at Karachi from May 1-15. On the instructions of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, the event has been recharged after 2005.
It is purely an event for organisational and services soccer teams of Pakistan, who used to appear in top-two Divisions of PFF viz Pakistan Premier League and PFF League. The event will dig out upcoming, talented players for us in the build up for the National team to take part in coming SAFF Champion-ship 2008 at Maldives/Sri Lanka, Faisal said.
The draw ceremony of the National Football Challenge Cup event will be held on Sunday, 20th April 2008, at Fifa Football House, Ferozepur Road, Lahore. The PFF had asked all the managers of the teams to attend the draw ceremony.
According to PFF spokesman, the reinstallation of event for departmental teams is a healthy sign and players will emerge from every niche of Pakistan.
