Qaim stressed diabetes awareness among masses
KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has stressed the need to create awareness among masses about disadvantages, causes, effects and complications of diabetes, which is increasing in the population day by day.
This he observed in a message on World Diabetes Day being observed across the world including Pakistan, on November 14, said a statement issued on Sunday.
He said that it's a matter of grave concern that more than 346 million people world wide are diabetic, and as reported it will be more concerning that the number will be more than double by 2030 without any intervention, which is more concerning for human beings.
The Sindh CM directed the provincial health department to make concerted efforts for increased awareness which will lead to more resources to fight the causes of diabetes and help for research into improved treatment options.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that prompt measures will be evolved to curb the menace of diabetes from Sindh, and facts of prevention and cure will be projected and highlighted to achieve maximum results.
