Children's literature festival

lit-festaLAHORE: Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) and Oxford University Press (OUP) will jointly hold a two-day children's literature festival at Children's Library Complex from November 25 to 26.

In a press statement issued here, Baela Raza and Ameen Saiyid, founders of CLC, said that the festival had been sponsored by the Foundation of Open Society Institute and CLC.

They said that the aim of the first national level literature festival for children of Pakistan was to promote reading, creativity and critical thinking among children and generate an interest in books and literature.

The two-day programme will feature talks, panel discussion on the usage of library resources, book fair, poetry reading, writing competition, puppet show with papular characters, children's theatre, live cartoon presentations and sessions on local languages, they added.
