LONDON: Share prices in London slipped in initial trading on Friday in contrast to a slight rally on other leading European markets where tension eased with progress on the formation of new governments in Italy and Greece.
In London, the FTSE 100 index was showing a fall of 3.54 points or 0.07 percent from the close on Thursday to stand at 5,541.55 points.
In Frankfurt, stocks showed an opening gain of 0.23 percent, while in Paris shares rose 0.21 percent and in Milan they gained 0.80 percent.
