LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister A. Rehman Malik on Tuesday expressed the government's resolve to curb terrorism in the country till last.
"Maintaining peace and security is the utmost priority of the government," he added.
During a call on with Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khosa at the Governor House, he said, owing to effective strategy of the government law and order remained under control on Eid days as no untoward incident was reported from any part of the country.
Malik was of the opinion that tolerance whether it was religious or political was imminent. "Respect of each others mandate is imperative otherwise democracy cannot take its roots," he observed.
The Interior Minister told the Governor that government's planning about collection of hides of sacrificial animals proved successful.
Without mentioning anybody, he said, undemocratic match fixing should not be the part of politics. He said, politically sane people would outrightly reject those with dirty ball tempering.
Speaking to the Interior Minister, Governor Latif Khosa felicitated him for the strategy he adopted to maintain law and order situation on Eid ul Azha. He hoped that it would continue till elimination of terrorism from the country. He suggested that if all political forces should cooperate with each other peace and prosperity could be established in the country.
