messi-shirt-1024We live in strange times, this quote could best describe a barbaric act carried out by the terror group ISIS, when they kidnapped a three years old kid because his father had named him Messi after his footballer hero.

According to Iraqi News, the Kurdish Yazidi child, now five, was captured by IS along with his mother and sister in Sinjar, northern Iraq in 2014.

messi-1-1024As per reports, the militant group had ordered his wife to change Messi's 'infidel' name to Hassan.

It was learnt that the IS militants refused to let the children and their mother leave, as they call for ransom demands - even though the family had no money, reported Kurdistan24.

The boy and his family are now safe, as they were rescued after serving two years in captivity, and are now living in a refugee camp in Dohuk, Iraqi Kurdistan.
