KARACHI: In all 358 branches of National Bank of Pakistan will be operating countrywide on Saturdays to ensure availability of basic banking facilities mainly to business community.
According to NBP announcement here Friday, NBP branches located at Custom Houses, Ports, Airports shall remain open 24/7 as per existing practice.
As much as 71 branches will be exclusively open on to facilitate NBP customers for Eid.

The list of activities carried out on Saturdays include cash receipts and payments, collection of government revenues (Taxes, Custom Duties etc), government payments (Pensions, Salaries etc), online transactions/fund Transfer (wherever possible), collection of utility bills, issuance of demand drafts, pay orders, traveller cheques etc, collection of cheques and other related instruments (the instruments received for clearing will be processed on next working day) and acceptance of documents / opening of inland & foreign letter of credit (not forward cover).
The timing for branches for Saturday will be observed as on Saturday business timing 9:00 am to 12:30pm and Office Timings: 9:00am to 01:30pm.
