ISLAMABAD: The export of engineering goods registered an increase of 75.25 percent during first quarter of current year over the same period of last year.
The country has exported the commodities worth US$ 85.39 million during July-September 2011 whereas goods worth of US$ 48.73 were exported in during July-September 2010.
According to data released by Federal Board of Statistics (FBS), among other commodities, the export of electric fans stood at US$ 9.86 million, showing the growth of 11.84 per cent during July- September of current year against the export of US$ 8.82 million in same period of last year.
As compared to the corresponding period of last year, the export of transport equipment witnessed rise of 163.63 percent from US$ 3.71 million to US$ 9.79 million.
The export of other electrical machinery recorded at US$ 15.61 million, registering an increase of 32.79 percent during the July- September of current year over the same period of last year.
The export of machinery specialized for particular industries witnessed an increase of 67.08 percent from US$ 7.18 million to US$ 11.99 million during July-September over the same period of last year.
The country has exported auto parts and accessories worth US$ 5.95 million, registering the rise of 36.97 percent against US$ 4.34 million during the period under review.
The export of other machinery stood at US$ 32.20 million, showing an increase of 149.11 percent against US$ 12.93 million during the period under review.
On year on year basis, the export of engineering goods witnessed an increase of 99.51 percent during September 2011 over September 2010.
The country has exported the commodities worth US$ 26.77 million against US$ 13.42 million.
On month on month basis, the export of engineering stood at US$ 26.77 million during September 2011 against export of US$ 32.82 million in August 2011.
