Pakistan and Malaysia on Wednesday agreed to enhance air communication between the two countries and decided to start seven flights a week each. Two sides have inked an agreement to enhance air communication. Shahidullah Baig, Joint Secretary Ministry of Defence signed the agreement on behalf of Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan.
While D G Sheblia Abdel Ghani, Principal Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Transport of Malaysia signed on behalf of her country. The two sides held have also agreed to finalise the schedule of flights. The CAA would start flights from Lahore and Karachi.
This agreement was outcome of a two-day dialogue between Pakistan and Malaysia. Seven-member Pakistan delegation was led by Additional Secretary of Ministry of Defence, Major General Mir Haider Ali Khan, while D G Sheblia Abdel Ghani, Principal Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Transport of Malaysia led four member Malaysian delegation.
A temporary arrangement of the air communication already existed between Pakistan and Malaysia under which 3 flights from each side were in operation which were later increased to four flights a week. But there was no proper agreement. The agreement was signed after the two sides decided to enhance bilateral political, trade and economic activities.
