State Bank of Pakistan has announced to donate one-day salary in President's Relief Fund for Flood Victims. SBP Governor Dr Shamshad Akhtar has said that all employees of SBP and its two subsidiaries - the SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBPBSC) and the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF)- will donate their one-day salaries to the President's Relief Fund for Flood Victims.
"This gesture of ours will not only help those in need, but will also be in line with the State Bank's tradition of being a socially-responsible organisation," the Governor said in a communication to the employees of the bank.
The SBP is also planing to set up a special relief fund for flood victims and the SBP staff contributions and allocation from the special SBP relief fund will be transferred to the President's Relief Fund for Flood Victims. It may be mentioned here that the President Relief Fund had been set up to alleviate the sufferings of hundreds of thousands of people affected by the recent floods in Sindh and Balochistan.
