The lawyers' community on Tuesday continued their protest by observing token strike and staging hunger strike camps against suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan here on Tuesday. The lawyers boycotted the courts for one hour and wore black ribbons on their arms to register their protest.
Two hunger strike camps one by Lahore High Court Bar Association and second by Save Judiciary Committee (SJC) were set up in Lahore High Court Bar Association premise while third camp was organised by Lahore Bar Association at Aiwan-e-Adal.
At these hunger strike camps a number of lawyers including President LHCBA Ahsan Bhoon, former president Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari, Secretary LHCBA Sarfraz Ahmad Cheema, Finance Secretary Ruby Hayat Awan, Abdul Rashid Qureshi, Muhammad Azhar Siddique, Tayyaba Ramzan Rana Tanvir and Raja Zulqarnain took part. Various leaders and workers of political parties visited the hunger strike camps and expressed solidarity with the lawyers.
