To ensure effective conduct of the Punjab Health Sector Reforms, 1,608 school, health and nutrition supervisors are being appointed to monitor school health and community health education at Rural Health Centres (RHCs).
This was said by Punjab Minister for Public Health Engineering Hassan Akhtar Mokal, while talking to local nazims, NGO representatives and PML workers at his village near here.
He said that Rs 6.5 billion would be spent on providing missing health facilities at all RHCs and basic health units, while mother-and-child healthcare centres and midwifery homes would be set up to serve a 10,000 population area in the first phase, which would be increased in the second phase to cater to 5,000 population areas.
