National Assembly Speaker Ameer Hussain on Sunday said that he had taken decision against Imran Khan as per constitution and would do the same in other cases as well. He was responding to questions from newsmen at the oath taking ceremony of newly elected office-bearers of Anjuman-e-Gujran, Pakistan, at Alhamra Centre here.
He said that the Speaker has to take decision on reference against a member in 30 days. However, the time can be extended. "The Speaker has to decide whether or not he should pass on a reference against any member to Chief Election Commissioner in a period of 30 days.
However, he may take time more than 30 days," he said. He said tat two references have been submitted to National Assembly Secretariat against the Prime Minister by opposition and a lawyer from Karachi. He said he was looking into these references and would take decision on them as per constitution. He said that in the constitution there is no restriction on the President to contest election for second term.
