The annual surplus and tax-free budget of Rs401.9 million for Lyallpur Town was approved here on Saturday. According to the budget estimates, Rs131.427 million were allocated for non-development expenditures. Out of which, Rs72.6645 million were earmarked for salaries while Rs240.877 million were earmarked for development projects.
Out of total, Rs73.272 million will be expended on ongoing development projects while Rs72.65820 million have been earmarked for CCB's projects and Rs95 million for new development projects.
Similarly, Rs6.5 million have been allocated for the purchase of street lights, Rs5 million for patch work of roads, Rs38 million for the schemes proposed by union Naib Nazims, Rs8.6 million for the schemes proposed by the members elected against special seats while Rs37 million were allocated for mega projects. The Convenor postponed the meeting after the approval of annual budget. Later, in an emergency meeting, the house also approved various contracts including the contract for the canteen in Jinnah Garden and contract for the collection of fee for transfer of property.
