Rain-hit areas: CEC directs enrolment of eligible voters

Chief Election Commissioner, Justice Qazi Muhammad Farooq (Retd) has decided to make special arrangements, during the third phase, for enrolment of eligible voters in rain hit areas, who possess NIC or CNIC.
"All necessary arrangements will be made for voters enrolment in rain affected areas and mobile teams will be deputed to do the needful on the spot," he said, in a statement.
The Chief Election Commissioner said, the Draft Computerised Electoral Rolls are being prepared strictly in accordance with the relevant provisions of law and rules, as available in the Electoral Rolls Act, 1974 and the Electoral Rolls Rules, 1974. These laws and rules expressly provide that the electoral roll shall contain the number of National Identity Card of each voter, he said.
