Indus tributaries in NWFP are in very high flood while all major rivers in the country are flowing below low flood level. According to Flood Forecast Division report, Indus tributaries ie Kabul river at Adezai and Shah Alam river at Tukhtbad are in high flood. Nugman river at Charsada road is also in high flood.
According met report Monday's well marked monsoon low over Arabian Sea which was developed into tropical cyclone (Yemyin) is heading west-north-west direction towards Balochistan coast.
Moist air current from Arabian sea is reaching Punjab up to 7000 feet while Monday's westerly wave over Malakand division is today moving across north of Kashmir. Widespread heavy to very heavy falls with strong winds are expected over coastal Balochistan ie Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara. Flash floods are expected in Kech, Hingol and Dasht rivers.
Scattered rain has been forecast for coastal areas of Sindh along with Kashmir, north and north-eastern Punjab and upper catchments of river Indus. Meanwhile reports of rain have been received from different parts of the country. Following cities received more than 10 mm rainfall during last 24 hours.
Murree 57 mm, Lasbella 46, Attock 42 mm, Karachi 39 mm, Khuzdar and Bahawalnagar 36 mm each, Chakri 35 mm, Sibbi 34 mm, Cherat 29, Kakul and Pasni 27 mm each, Jocbabad 25 mm, Kotli 24 mm, Hyderabad 20 mm, Kamra 29 mm, Badin and Nawabshah 18 mm each, Ghariala 15 mm, Larkana and Domel 13 mm.
