French striker Thierry Henry will arrive in Barcelona later Sunday to finalise his transfer from Premiership side Arsenal, the Spanish club have confirmed.
"Thierry Henry will arrive in Barcelona this evening on a private flight," the club said in a statement. The 29-year-old will undergo a medical at the Nou Camp on Monday before visiting the stadium and taking his first steps on the pitch in Barca's dark blue and read jersey during a open session before the public.
The four-year deal, believed to be worth 24 million euros (32 million dollars), will however be subject to the medical and the completion of formalities.
"Certain details remain to be finalised between the three parties involved, that is to say Arsenal, FC Barcelona and Thierry Henry," the statement added.
Barcelona, completed the La Liga and Champions League double in 2006, but finished runner-up in the Spanish league this season behind Real Madrid. Henry is Arsenal's leading all-time scorer with 226 goals in 369 games since moving to Highbury from Juventus eight years ago.
Currently sidelined with a leg injury, Henry said that he hoped to resume full training in two weeks and be ready for Barcelona's start to their preparations for the new season on July 20.
He also said he hoped to continue to play a full part in France's campaign to reach the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland. Henry has played 92 times for his country and scored 39 goals.
