In continuation of a memorable agreement between Central Board of Revenue (CBR) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), signed on June 8, 2007, to impart training to top CBR officials, the first formal meeting between the two sides was held here on Saturday.
Haji Ahmad, Director General, Regional Tax Office, Lahore chaired the meeting. Commissioners and Collectors of Income Tax and Sales Tax/Customs from LTU and RTO Lahore attended the two-hour meeting with the LUMS representative Professor Imran Ali. The Human Resource Co-ordinator of CBR, Sameera Yasin was also present.
The first session of training would stretch over six days, thus imparting quality education to the CBR officers of grade 20 and 21. Preferred courses would be change management, leadership skills, team management, motivation along with imparting knowledge about various methods and techniques to the senior officers for boosting up the morale, positive conversational skills and resolving the workplace disputes efficiently and effectively.
The Director General, RTO Lahore Haji Ahmad thanked the LUMS for exhibiting their interest in designing the training programme for CBR's senior officers. He further said that CBR would like to make this training a fine amalgamation of practice and theory and that could be ensured by adopting the internationally recognised training techniques of case studies. He showed complete faith in the ability of LUMS people and was certain that they would stand up to their global repute of being impeccable in business training.
