Habibullah Shakir, President High Court Bar Association, Multan, has said the visit of CJP Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry will change the political scenario in Multan as people from all walks of life will express their solidarity by according a colourful and historic reception to him on Saturday.
Talking to newsmen here, he said lawyers, businessmen, political parties and people from all walks of life had finalised arrangements and chalked out a colourful programme for according a rousing reception to Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in a befitting manner. He said a number of teams would display bands and present welcoming songs while there would be camel and horse dances along the route from Qadirpur Ranwan to Multan while hundreds of pigeons would be released to mark the colourful programme.
He said the CJP always upheld the basic rights and provided relief to the needy persons of society and hence the people wanted to express their solidarity with the Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry who was the custodian of people's fundamental rights. He said that 'sabeels' would be set up at different places to offer water to those coming for his reception.
He said Saturday would be remembered as a historic day in the history of south Punjab when the people would prove their solidarity and loyalty to the CJP. He further said there would be colourful celebrations on the arrival of CJP in the city as the route was being tastefully decorated with colourful welcoming banners and the city would present a festive look on that very day.
WARM RECEPTION
KASUR: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary was accorded warm welcome when he reached at Sarai Chheemba near Phoolnagar on his way to Multan on Saturday.
Lawyers including Munir A Malik, Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan, Rana Abdul Shakoor, members Punjab Bar Council, Rana Masood Ahmad MPA, Baz Muhammad Khan Chairman Bar Council Balochistan, Justice Fakhar-un-Nisa (Retd) and Latif Khosa senior advocate were accompanying with the caravan of CJP.
