NWFP Secretary Finance, Zia-ur-Rahman inaugurated Human Resource Centre (HRC) at Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Saturday. The purpose of establishing this centre is to computerise the service record of all provincial employees and to train them in their relevant fields.
Present on the occasion were Special Secretary Finance Aurangzeb Haq, Saifur Rahman and other high ups of Finance Department. Addressing the ceremony Zia-ur-Rahman said that Human Resource Management was an important administrative requirement in the modern organisations, while the establishment of Human Resource Centre was essential for giving training to employees.
He added that appropriate data placement was possible through easy access to information while promotion, career planning, medical insurance, pension management, housing etc necessitated electronic form of data.
Aurangzeb Haq said data-base of about 90 percent of provincial employees and pensioners had been made under the Provincial Reforms Programme; while web application system had been prepared, enabling all the stakeholders to access the information from any where.
He revealed that NWFP had taken lead over other provinces by establishing HR database, which was first of its kind in public sector in the country. He added that the database was helpful in policy planning and effective decision making. He said due to this system transparency would come in information regarding employees and standard and efficiency of services would become better across the province.
