Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be making an official request to International Cricket Council (ICC) for renovation and upgradation of stadia for the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
"PCB would be seeking special grant from ICC for the upliftment of stadia across Pakistan," he told journalists at National Stadium on Friday after inaugurating KCCA Inter Zonal Under-17 championship.
"We would be looking for same kind of assistance from ICC, like they provide to West Indies Cricket Board during recently concluded CWC 2007 in Caribbean," he said. "PCB can not single handedly afford such massive amounts for upgradation of stadia in Pakistan," he maintained. He dispelled the impression that massive funds of rupees 80 million has been allocated for the improving the facilities and cricketing infrastructure for Cricket Champions Trophy.
