The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has condemned the action of British government of awarding the title of 'Sir' to Salman Rushdie and announced black day on Friday for not withdrawing the same.
The bar secretary Zulfiqar Bokhari, vice president Sahibzada Anwaar Hameed and other office bearers while talking to newsmen. On the occasion they also condemned the killing of innocent people in Dita Khel by the aerial firing of the allied forces.
They also announced to welcome Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on June 23 at Punjab University campus at 6.00 am from where his convoy would proceed to Multan to address the bar members.
They appealed the bar members and the general public to reach Punjab University campus to welcome Chief Justice warmly. They said all the bar members of Pattoki, Okara, Sahiwal, Chicha Watni, Mian Channu, Khanewal and Multan would give a rousing welcome to Chief Justice of Pakistan.
