Five organisations of the federal capital the French Embassy and the French Cultural centre (Alliance Française) City FM 89, CDA and Vinci have pooled their efforts to celebrate the World Music day on Saturday (Tomorrow), June 23 at the Saidpur Model village.
The universal Music Day, normally celebrated in more than 100 countries of the world on June 21, is a collaborative contribution of amateur and professional musicians. On this occasion, they serenade public places and perform music concert out into the open.
Due to some technical reasons, it would be celebrated at Islamabad on Saturday (Tomorrow), with presentation from Silver Smoke, Irtaash and Natasha and TEE-M, a Karachi music group led by Tariq Mirza, who is now settled in Los Angeles (where he has been for most of his life). Mirza says, "The music scene in Pakistan is booming."
Tariq's music is "pop rock with a Pakistani influence", he is a big Beatles fan and says of musicians of that era that they were very passionate about their music, and he is the same.
