The power supply disconnection and arrears recovery campaign of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) against defaulting government departments is in progress, as a result of which 10 more government tube-wells power has been disconnected in Rural Division of Peshawar Circle for non-payment of arrears of Rs 18,38,661.
It is understood that Town-I owes more than Rs 5.2 million to Pesco and executive engineer rural Cantt had time and again warned Town-I for payment of arrears but no payment was made. Hence, Pesco was compelled to disconnect a few connections. According to information received, power of ten tube-wells of government departments in Peshawar Circle have been disconnected for non-payment of approximately Rs 18. million.
These included Saeed Abad Rs 45,611, Din Bahar-I Rs 1,35,520, Din Bahar-II Rs 75,310, Jinnah Abad Rs 95,214 Malik Abad Rs 81,163, Itehad Colony Rs 65,077, Itehad Colony Near Mutabar Khan Rs 7,06,425, Afghan Colony Rs 1,26,563, Ring Road Rs 44,448, and tube-well of Charsadda Bus Stand, Peshawar, Rs 4,63,330.
All federal and provincial institutions and private consumers have once again been asked, in their own interest, to clear their arrears and pay their electricity bills in time so that their power supply may not be disconnected.
