Fruitfly attack on mango orchards in the district has been controlled with the efforts of Fruit and Vegetable Development Project staff and the mango growers.
This was disclosed by the representatives of Centre for Agriculture Bio-sciences International (CABI), Dr Iqbal Niazi and Insect Bio-control Specialist Abdul Rehman after the inspection of mango orchids in various areas of the district Rahimyar Khan.
Addressing the CABI staff and mango growers here on Tuesday, they said that the district had special importance regarding mango production as the 30 percent of the total mango production in the country was produced here.
Pakistan was earning 24 million dollars from mango export, which would be doubled within few years, they hoped. They also lauded the performance of the Farms Feeder schools running under the aegis of the CABI in the RYK district for facilitating and training the farmers about techniques to enhance the agriculture output.
