A delegation of European Commission headed by Zsoit Bartfai visited the Lahore High Court Bar Association and discussed various issues pertaining to working of the Bar.
The delegation is currently visiting Pakistan to look into the possibility of holding free and fair elections in Pakistan. During discussion with the Bar office bearers, delegation members expressed interest in election process, registration of votes, election rules, acceptance and rejection of nomination papers and other matters.
Secretary Bar Association Sarfraz Cheema discussed these matters with the delegation at length and contended that there must be an independent judiciary for holding free, fair and impartial elections.
