Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) will not compromise on overage players and will ensure that players of all the teams taking part in the upcoming Khanewal's National U-15 Football Tournament are not overage.
According to a spokesman of PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has warned that if any participating team try to send overage players on fake documents, strict action will be taken against the delinquents. The players born on or after 1 January 1992 will be eligible to play in Khanewal's event.
Khanewal will act as host of the 16-team event from 27 June to 7 July 2007. It will be first time that Khanewal is arranging the national-level event of PFF. "PFF is very strict about anything that annihilate discipline and sportsmanship. We would not spare those found involved in violating the discipline.
Age-Scrutiny was very tight at previous age-group events under aegis of PFF", he added. "To ensure the inclusion of only genuine footballers in the age-groups tourneys, both FIFA and AFC have set strict rules and each and every player has to pass an age-verification test", the spokesman added.
