Punjab Auqaf Minister Sahibzada Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah has said that a composite plan has been devised to provide free of cost computer education to the seminary students. The purpose is to enable the seminaries to become part of national mainstream, besides ensuring maximum opportunities for the seminary graduates in their practical life.
He was addressing the annual ceremony at a Chungi Amarsidhu seminary here on Friday. The minister informed that computer books, besides computer instructors, would be arranged, without charge for the seminaries. This would enable the seminaries to improve their educational standards, he hoped.
The Madrassa students would also be given computer education to increase their economic potential. He asked the seminary students to seek knowledge for sensitising the west about Islamic teachings.
The Auqaf department has also launched Madrassa Reforms Programme and eight model seminaries have already been set up in seven districts including Lahore. The Quran Complex and Seerat Academy project had been launched which would help in promotion of Islamic knowledge among the youth, he continued.
