The spokesman of All Pakistan Textile Association (Apta) Tanveer Sheikh has alleged that All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) is refusing to grant the certification of various commercial documents for example Export Price Cheque (EPC) certificate to the members of All Pakistan Textile Association (Apta) in violation of authority given to it by the Federal Ministry of Commerce.
While talking to press the representative of the All Pakistan Textile Association (Apta) stated that the Ministry of Commerce had given Aptma the power of certification, attestation of various documents in term of rules, statutes for compliance of various provisions thereof and mandatory statutory records but it has been refusing to non members and even members of the association in this regard without assigning any reasons.
He said that this action of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) was biased, discriminatory and unlawful. He averred that Aptma was following the policy of victimisation which would deeply disturb the business activities.
He further stated that the majority of textile units were not the member Aptma and thus due to discriminatory and biased attitude they are facing serious difficulties in various matters especially the export price cheque. He appealed the government to intervene in the matter and suggested that respective Chambers of Commerce and Industry concerned should be allowed for certification/attestation of various documents particularity the export price cheque.
