Total portfolio investment in the country's equity market has declined by $36.229 million to $861.013 million on June 13, 2007 from its highest ever level of $897.243 million recorded on June 08, 2007 due to massive outflow by Singapore and UK investors.
According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on June 13, 2007 major inflow of $1.565 million was witnessed by Hong Kong investors, Bahrain by $7,982, Switzerland by $385,722, United Kingdom (UK) by $893,281 and USA by $13.542 million. On the outflows side, $394,310 was witnessed by Hong Kong, $967,131 by Singapore, $80,006 by Switzerland, $1.768 million by UK and $9.325 million by USA investors.
During the month of June 2007 total $110.927 million portfolio investment witnessed comprising USA with $99 million portfolio investment followed by UK with $22.101 million. In addition, Japanese investors invested $5.866 million, France $2.553 million, Bahrain $61,842 and Qatar $19,958 during June 2007.
