The Karachi Port handled 153,627 tonnes cargo including 134,657 tonnes import, 18,970 tonnes export cargo and 4,349 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The cargo comprised of 50,641 tonnes dry cargo including 42,419 tonnes general cargo; 4,127 tonnes iron scrap; 4,095 tonnes cement and 102,986 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Nine ships namely Oel Express, Corinthiakos, Cosco Shekou, Mol Admiration, Wan Hai-315, Victory-1, Zahra IV, Sea Princess and Rose sailed out to sea during the report period. Six vessels viz Splandour, Wan Hai-315, Nyzdan, Hayley Nadhi, Apl Yokohama and Y M Faha are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Y M Faha and Apl Yokohama expected to sail on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Al-Wajba, Evdoxia and Splandour expected to sail on Thursday. Eight vessels viz Hyundai Stride, Al-Wajba, Ninos, Y M Fortune, Al Mansourah, Sinai, Pacific Arrow and Valbella due to arrive on Wednesday, while three ships namely Ltc Calvin P. Titas, Tower Bridge and San Jiang Kou are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 25,254 tonnes furnace oil; 5,036 tonnes edible oil, 13,600 tonnes iron ore; 3,423 tonnes rice; 2,000 tonnes chemicals and 25,466 tonnes containerised cargo.
Five ships namely C.V. Maersk Darmstad, C.V. Pacheco, M.T. Chemstar Brave, M.T. Stella and M.V. Tarpon Santiago sailed out to sea during the report period, while container vessel Nedlloyd Africa is expected to sail on Wednesday. A total of two ships namely New Seto Kaze and ACX Jasmine are currently at the outer anchorage.
Seven vessels viz M.V. Nedlloyd Africa, M.V. Khairpur, C.V. Pacheco, M.T. Spruce Galaxy, M.T. Chemstar Brave, M.T. Stella and M.V. Adhua are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, chemicals, edible oil, furnace oil and iron ore respectively during the report period. Two container ships namely MSC Pride and ACX Jasmine due to take berths at Container Terminal on Wednesday.
Container vessel Emirates Jumeirah due to arrive on Wednesday, while three more ships namely C.V. Al-Wajba, M.T. Regent and M.V. BBC Asia are due to arrive on Thursday.
