LONDON: The London stock market dived by more than 3.0 percent on Tuesday, with more heavy losses for banks, after Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou called a referendum on its EU bailout deal.
The British capital's FTSE 100 index of leading companies dropped 3.12 percent to 5,371.43 points shortly after midday, with the banking sector suffering fresh falls on mounting fears of exposure to Greek debt.
