Rehman lauds Altaf for pro-President rally

KARACHI: Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Sunday highly appreciated the role of MQM chief Altaf Hussain for strengthening democracy in the country.

While having a chat with mediamen following a review of the security for the "Istehkam-e-Jamhoriyat Rally" here, Rehman Malik received a phone call from MQM chief Altaf Hussain who is in London and had a brief telephonic talk with him.

The Interior Minister put his cell-phone on loadspeaker mode and expressed gratitude with the MQM chief for organizing "Istehkam-e- Jamhoriyat Rally".

Altaf Hussain thanked leaders of various political parties for joining the rally which was organised by the MQM from Old Numaish (Old Exhibition ground) to Tibet Center here.

Rehman Malik said all parties should make concerted efforts to bring stability, prosperity and development in the country.

Member MQM Rabita Committee, Raza Haroon and PPP leader, Sardar Nabeel Gabol were also present on the occasion.
