Published January 30, 2017 Updated January 30, 2017 07:51am

imagePakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said he hopes US President Donald Trump imposes visa restrictions on Pakistan as he believes that the move would help Pakistanis develop their own country.

According to latest media reports, Imran Khan said that the innocent people of the United States elected Donald Trump as their president. Since hes been elected, we have been listening that probably the US won't give visas to Pakistanis anymore. "I pray that [US President Donald] Trump stops giving us [Pakistanis] visas because then we will try fixing our own country," Imran said while addressing a party gathering in Sahiwal on Sunday.

"The prime minister would go abroad even if he gets a headache. If it [the ban] happens, we will have to improve Pakistan and stand on our own feet."

He also criticized Sharif for hiding behind his children to cover up his corruption. "I feel sympathy for Maryam Nawaz because her father (Nawaz Sharif) has brought her forward to hide his own corruption in Panama case," he said and vowed to fight against Sharif familys corruption till his last breath.

"I need prayers of the nations mothers to fight against the king of corruption [PM Nawaz],he said, adding, I want youngsters and minorities to stand by me in this struggle."
