imagePESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday said the provincial government had introduced a system to deal lawlessness.

He was addressing public meetings in Camp Koroona, Momin Garhi and Habba Daudzai. The public meetings were also addressed by District Nazim Nowshera, Liaqat Khattak, MNA, Dr. Imran Khattak, Ishaq Khattak and others.

The chief minister said the local government representatives had been fully empowered and they were granted record funds during the next financial year.

He said the LG government representatives had been directed to put their energies in resolving the problems of the masses and utilize allocated funds for provision of sanitation facilities. No misappropriation of public money would be tolerated, he added.

Pervez Khattak said the Chinese companies had shown their interest for making investment in the province that would usher in a new era prosperity and development here. "It is our responsibility to thwart designs of certain elements, who want to plunder the resources of country for their personal interests," he added.

He said those, who were found guilty of gobbling up the country's resources would not be allowed to escape with impunity.

Khattak highlighted the significance of cleanliness. "Our religion Islam also stresses on cleanliness and all the local government representatives should also prioritize this in their agenda."

He claimed that the police stations in the province had already been freed from the influence of politicians while safety commissions were set up to ensure justice to a common man.

He said the second survey of Sehat Insaf Card would be initiated to include those in the scheme who were left in the first phase.

He said that Chitra-Chakdarra Road had been made part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor while Indus Highway would be upgraded by the federal government. The Kohat-Jund Road had been included in PSDP and Peshawar-DI Khan railway line had also been improved, he added.

The CM said two more routes had been proposed for the CPEC. Under the first route Gilgit, Bisham, Shangla, Swabi and Mardan would be linked with M1 while second route be from Gilgit to Bisham, Shangla, Khawazakhela, Swat, Chakdarra, Peshawar, Kohat, DI Khan, Zhob, Quetta to Gawadar. He said embankments had been constructed on both sides of the River Kabul at a cost of Rs 13 billion to protect Peshawar during floods.
