PM convenes special meetings to discuss PIA, Railways issues; review water projects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has convened a special meeting to review work on mega hydel projects on November 1 and another meeting to discuss the issues of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Pakistan Railways on November 3.

Prime Minister Gilani, who is currently visiting Australia to attend the meeting of Commonwealth, issued the directive on Friday to make arrangements to address the important issues on priority basis.

The meeting on November 1 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Gilani will take decisions regarding completion of Neelum-Jhelum and Kohala Projects and to remove various hurdles. The project of Nandipur will also come under discussion.

On November 3, the Prime Minister will chair the meeting to review the reforms and restructuring of PIA and Pakistan Railways.
