Argentine soy prices up with Chicago

SoyBUENOS AIRES: Argentina closing soy prices and trends on Thursday:

* Soy prices in Rosario were pushed higher by Chicago trade to end at ween 1,270 pesos and 1,300 pesos per tonne ($282.5-$289.2) compared with between 1,250 and 1,280 pesos in the previous session.

* Trade volume was about 5,000 tonnes.

* Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade ended up more than 2 percent on Thursday, the biggest rise in two weeks, buoyed by a drop in the US dollar after European leaders agreed on a plan to solve the region's debt crisis, traders said.

* In Rosario, soybeans for May 2012 delivery, priced in US dollars, closed up $10 at $290 per tonne.

* In port of Quequen soy rose 30 pesos to 1,260 pesos per tonne. In the port of Bahia Blanca, soy also ended at 1,260 per tonne on Thursday.
